Because I’m a Girl
Plan Nederland 
Plan Nederland is a member of Plan International, an international humanitarian organisation without political, religious or commercial goals. Plan has been working on lasting improvements in the lives of children and their families in developing countries under difficult and complex circumstances for 70 years. Plan does this by organising child focused community projects in 48 countries in Africa, Asia and Latin-America. Plan dedicates itself worldwide to children’s rights and a better compliance of the UN-agreement for Children’s rights.
Campaign ‘Because I’m a Girl’
Girls in developing countries are most of the time even worse off than boys. That is why Plan Nederland stands up for them with the campaign “Because I am a girl”. Plan makes sure that girls can go to school, builds schools and educates teachers. Plan fights for girls not to be circumcised and prevents them from being married off as a child. Plan also teaches girls to stand up for their own rights and presses governments to provide the same educational chances for all children.
Crocs for girls in developing countries
The European head office of Crocs supports the Plan campaign ‘Because I am a Girl’ for girls in developing countries. Crocs staff helps with Plan-events and has given a donation which contributes to future opportunities for girls.
